Who Said I Couldn't Be Deep and Meaningful...

Okay, only I ever have said that. And maybe my mum.

But here is a deep and meaningful thought from me.

We are called to be the Salt and the Light to the World. (Matthew 5:13-16) The problem is, everyone is really pre-occupied with being the light. Don't get em wrong, that is a good thing. The world needs all the light it can get. But we are also told to be the salt and are warned that if the salt should lose its saltiness it is useless, good oly to be thrown away and be trampled on. And a lot of Christians are unsalty salt.

Those of us who are Christians need to keep salty. We aren't to be like other people. We are supposed to be different from the world. We need to be in the world (the lgiht) yet not of it.

Just to build on what you said...

Salt is to change the taste of food (can't think of a nicer way to put it... oh well). Salt that is left in the salt shaker doesn't change the taste of food. To be salty, you gotta get out there and make a difference, not hide yourself away in your own little world of christianness. So really, in a lot of ways similar to that of light, to be effectively salty you gotta be in the world. Make your taste be known. It would be very cool if we were called to be pepper, not salt, 'cos then we could say "go forth and spice up the world!" but salt is good because it preserves things, so if there are enough salty people out there all the unsalty ones would be "preserved" (saved). Hmm, I've rambled mwahaha.

Guess who this is?
